Model corruption from using "merge" new function in ModelIT

Post by JosephG »

Just a note on using the new "merge" function in ModelIT in V605 of IES. DO NOT USE IT. I just used it, and the following happened:

1. the merged room disappeared from my room group listings. Under Settings > Model > Groups Check I found the room was properly assigned but it was not to be found in any room group.

2. the rest of the model adjacencies got corrupt with some holes disappearing.

I'm now having to revert to a previous version of the model and lost a day's work. I'm not going to go through every zone in my model to fix this as I have way too many. In other words, nice feature to have, but it doesn't work and unless you have backup you might be sorry you tried it.

Hi Joseph,

We've got a few problems with this tool just now, I would avoid using it until the next version when we'll have the tool improved and I'll also get some documentation on it as well. Sorry for any time lost by using it already.

If you use the traditional Connect tool for now that should work ok.

Sorry again,
