inner volume errors

Post by la_bets »

Hi everydoby,

I am building a model which as a quite complex geometrical shape (it not too bad, but there are some curved walls). I first draw the model using sketchup and then imported it in the VE. As for this project the inner volumes are relevant, I draw the external surfaces on the external line of the walls. In VE I created the constructions I need and assigned them to the various surfaces. In particular, the external walls are pretty think (circa 50 cm). When I create the inner volume something doesn't work right, and not all of the inner surfaces seems to be parallel to the external ones (or to the surfaces adjacent to other rooms). Any idea on what could be reason or how could I solve this?

Hi,

There have been a few issues with inner volumes in <VE> 6.0.5 that we are currently investigating. Some things to check would be to do a model geometry check to make sure the model came in from SketchUp without any errors. If there are errors flagged up then you should look at correcting these then refresh the inner volumes display to see if this has helped.

If you are still concerned by the inner volumes in the project then post back here and I'll contact you to get the model and take a look myself.

Hi Phil,

thank you for your reply. The geometry check reported indeed some errors, I'll try to fix them and I will let you know if it works.
Thanks again
