Simulating an IF control function

Works in conjunction with ApacheSim to provide effective modelling of conventional/advanced HVAC systems, operation and control.

Simulating an IF control function

Post by kkhyuen »

Whats the easiest way to simulate an "If" control.

Eg. I have 2 air inputs and I want to set them to be either/or.. logic statement would be as follows:
"If flow rate in stream A is 250 l/s then Flow rate in Stream B will be 0 l/s" AND
"If flow rate in stream A is 0 l/s then Flow rate in Stream B will be 250 l/s"

Would appreciated some help to set this up....

Thanks.

Apologies if this answer is too late for you, but here goes.

Firstly, there is no IF logical operator in APHVAC. There is in APPRO, but I don't think you could use it in to control an APHVAC flow.

Secondly, it's next to impossible to find an alternative solution to your problem unless you post your APHVAC network (or at least the relevant part of it) on the forum. By seeing it, a differential controller could work, or letting APHVAC guess the flow in stream B could also work depending on your network. I think what you want is doable, but I'd need to see your network. Can you attach a jpeg?

Hope this helps
